How to force Google to instantly crawl your URL or page.

Get Google to crawl your page instantly

How to force Google to crawl your page instantly…

This is a little hack for Google that I found out sometime ago that forces Google to crawl your page instantly. We all know how to get Google to add your page to a crawl list and sometimes that can take days or even valuable hours to get it crawled and it then needs to be indexed of course.

Time is money and if you have a new page you want ranking quickly then this is going to help you get it crawled straight away.

With all the new websites being uploaded and coming online, with thousands of blog post articles being written every day Google bots are stretched to get to every page and the crawl budget for each website seems to be getting smaller and smaller every couple of months.

This is what lead me to start experimenting and trying different things to get pages indexed and crawled.

The normal way to request your a crawl or indexing is you go to Google search console and select “URL Inspection” type in your new or modified URL and then click on “Request Indexing” this then adds your URL to the crawl list and then you just wait.

Get your page Crawled by Google now…

There are two ways to do this and it depends if it’s a new page or URL or a pre-existing one.

For a new URL.

The first things you need to do are obvious… you need to make sure your URL is set public and published, then you need to submit a sitemap to Google, wait a few minutes for Google to check it.

This will register the new URL with Google as it has now been registered that it is in your site map by Google.

Then you go to URL Inspection” and stop here, don’t click on “Request Indexing”… first you need to click on “Test Live URL” then one of the google bots will crawl your page instantly to check it and make sure it passes all tests.

The two important parts here are that Google will crawl the page, yes, that’s right a Google bot just crawled your page seconds after you requested it and it will also show you if there are any errors on the pages Schema markup .

Now to finish off you need to click on “Request Indexing” and that’s it your done.

For an existing URL

You open Google Search Console and go to “URL Inspection”, don’t click on “Request Indexing”… the first step is to click on “Test Live URL” as soon as you do that one of the google bots will crawl your page to check it and make sure it passes all page tests.

Did you notice I said that Google will crawl the page, yes, you read that right a Google bot will instantly crawl your page right after you selected it.

The final step is to finish off the crawl is to click on “Request Indexing” and that’s it your done.

Your page has now been Crawled by Google and your changes should then be registered on Google Serps fairly soon after that, the main work has been done now that the page has been Crawled by Google it’s just a matter of waiting now.
